Women's History Month: Joannie Davis
Joannie Davis is a Costa Rican artist and nutritionist who has been passionate about portrait photography since she was a little girl. Through her pictures she wants to help people accept themselves and feel confident. She wants women to feel beautiful and love themselves a little more every day.
She photographs all types of women, but particularly love to celebrate black women. In her own words: "Even though I enjoy photographing all types of women, I feel the responsibility of representing and highlight the beauty of afro women to slowly break stereotypes and thought patterns about our hair, features and skin color, which are also present within the black community and make it difficult for us to accept and love ourselves as God created us."
