Where were you born and where do you live?

I am from Queens and live in Brooklyn, New York.

When and why did you start making art?

I’ve been drawing since before I could walk. It was an escape for me as a child with a chronic illness.

What inspires you?

The colors and shapes I see in the world around me.

What about your technique is unique and different from other artists?

I use gravity and other elements of nature to assist in producing a piece.

What themes are present in your artwork?

Mostly abstract or natural themes. I like to focus on evoking emotions by highlighting a particular color or group of colors.

How has your culture impacted your artistic process?

Growing up in NYC, I was constantly surrounded by talent in all forms of art. Also, I am blessed with a very visual mind and I think NYC is one of the craziest places in the world to experience all the senses. It’s very stimulating.

Name one artist or artwork from your hometown that you are very fond of.

I can’t think of a specific artist, but I used to read and watch a lot of cartoons. I remember looking at still pictures and moving images and being so amazed at the lines and patterns and colors. I saw those images as parts of a whole and it made my brain explode with curiosity.

What does your art mean to you?

Art is freedom and a sanctuary for my thoughts.

What message do you want to relay through your work?

I want people to be inspired and energized by my work.

Describe your work in one word.

Colorful.
